Enemy Classes, Guide and Statistics
by Peter on Nov.10, 2010, under ∩ Resources
Hunting down a specific class of enemy can grow to be an extreme and tedious pain, but isn’t at all a problem when you really know your way around Reach. One of the most important things to recognize about enemy classes is that, when dealing with commendations and challenges, there are not infantry, specialist, and leader classes within each race. Sure, there are regular grunts, specialist grunts, and leader grunts, but for the purposes of commendations and challenges, all grunts are regarded as infantry.

Determining Host in Halo Reach
by Peter on Nov.08, 2010, under π Discussion
Knowing whether or not you have host will not necessarily make or break a game, but it’s certainly a useful thing to know. If you find that you’re only pulling host 1 out of 45 times, then it wouldn’t be unreasonable to look into working on a better internet connection in order to enhance your abilities in-game. If any of these techniques prove to be false, either because of an update or simply because they’re lies, be sure to post a comment yelling at me so.
Leaps and Rounds: Boardwalk
by Peter on Nov.08, 2010, under ∩ Resources
I’ve grown to appreciate Boardwalk much more as I’ve begun to understand the more efficient ways of moving across the map and advancing into combat. All in all, the map itself is a playground for two-step jumps that, when utilized at any time during the game, can be powerful assets. I’ve jotted down a handful of extremely simple, quality techniques that could prove to be helpful to Boardwalk-shunning players. Additional details about more specific combat scenarios might be added later on.

We’ve all heard AutoTuneTheNews’ version of the Double Rainbow video, and humanity should be proud that both the video and the song were made. But, we’re gamers. Player Sensitivity Corresponds to Skill?
by Peter on Jul.15, 2010, under π Discussion
On a variety of Halo forums, users have banded together to create a thread in which they post their Halo 3 sensitivity. I chose to further this by asking players at ForgeHub to post their sensitivity along with their Trueskill, to see whether or not there was any correlation between the two values. The results were a bit surprising. (continue reading…)

Halo Reach Firefight
by Peter on Jun.17, 2010, under π Discussion
On June 15th, Bungie announced a load of new features related to Halo Reach’s Firefight mode that we can expect to see this fall. I at first didn’t know quite what to think about a Halo Reach Firefight. My primary fear was that the mode would too closely resemble that of Halo 3: ODST, and that Bungie wouldn’t bring anything new to the table. But they did.
